PATRA Porcelain is proud to announce the recognition received from Saint-Gobain Thailand for our commitment to sustainability through the recycling and recovery of waste plaster-based moulds. This certification underscores our dedication to environmental responsibility and innovative manufacturing practices in the porcelain and bone china tableware industry.
In 2023, we successfully returned an impressive 1,636.64 tons of plaster moulds from our production facility in Saraburi to the Gyproc Bang Pa-In Plant of Saint-Gobain Thailand.
This initiative highlights our proactive approach in managing waste and contributing to a circular economy. Saint-Gobain Thailand has certified that over 99% of the returned plaster-based moulds have been effectively recovered and recycled. These moulds are repurposed in the manufacturing of construction plasters, demonstrating the potential for industrial waste to be transformed into valuable resources. Since 2018, the Saint-Gobain Bang Pa-In factory has been ISO 9001:2015 certified, ensuring high-quality standards in both production and recycling processes.

In recognition of our outstanding commitment to environmental sustainability and collaborative efforts in recycling plaster waste moulds, PATRA Porcelain’s contribution plays a crucial role in Saint-Gobain’s mission to promote circular economy practices and reduce industrial waste. We have demonstrated exemplary dedication to corporate responsibility by being the first customer to use Saint-Gobain’s recycling service (starting in 2023) and committing to continue this partnership until 2025. Our confidence in this service has paved the way for a successful partnership and has contributed to the reduction of virgin natural gypsum consumption and to the reduction of equivalent volume finishing dumped into landfill.
